3rd Time Unlucky is an Occult Scroll.

Increases the damage of weapons by +50%. Contrary to what the description implies in game, the bonus is NOT multiplicative.

However every time you use 3 Peculiar Chests, you gain a random cursed scroll. The scroll cannot be discarded to prevent the downside, and destroying it in another way will remove the benefit it provides.

Enhanced: The gained scroll may be a normal or cursed scroll. While this usually makes it better, it can also result in less benefit if the scrolls you get do not fit your build or you already have scrolls that benefit from cursed scrolls.

Synergies

Positive

• Evil-Banishing Talisman cancels the effects of all cursed scrolls.
• Evil-Devouring Sword grants +15% weapon damage and +20% skill damage for each cursed scroll.

Mixed

• Good and Evil increases Shields^?/ Armor^? by +15 for each cursed scroll owned, but loses its +15% Lucky Shot Chance.
• Take It All makes that each option you choose moves the counter by 1, such that it is very easy to get a lot of cursed scrolls.
• Eye of Providence causes extra Peculiar Chests to spawn at boss stage.

Notes

• If a player already has all cursed scrolls, using peculiar chests will no longer give more cursed scroll.
