Critical Hit is a guaranteed bonus whenever a hit from a weapon lands on a weak spot of the target, which is most often the head. Every weapon has its own CritX multiplier, which is used to multiply the damage.
Note: Skills, elemental effects and certain special hits triggered by ascensions, occult scrolls and inscriptions can never inflict critical hits, however there are a few exceptions.
Whenever you deal a critical hit, the color of the damage number changes to yellow. However if a lucky shot is also applied, the color is overwritten with orange, purple or red, depending on the lucky shot.
Critical hits will stack multiplicatively if a lucky shot occurs at the same time, dealing far greater damage (Example: 4x CritX and 2x Lucky Shot = 8x damage).
Weak Spots[]
Most enemies' weak spots are their heads, although this is not always the case. Some enemies' heads cannot be hit from certain angles, or have different weak spots entirely:
- Horned Beetle: Eyes. However actually hitting them is virtually impossible, and rather unnecessary.
- Desert Boar: Mouth.
- Desert Worm: Mouth.
- Dark-faced Bandit: Back. There is a large yellow scar on its back, indicating the weak spot.
- Since it always faces its target, it can only be hit after a charge attack, in multiplayer or from certain angles.
- Lantern Spirit: None.
- Umbrella Spirit: Eye. Hitting its weak spot can be difficult due to its constant movements.
- Mountain Guard: Chest. A glowing purple core rests in its chest.
- Flying Saucer: Gears. A pair of blue gears can be seen from below in its center.
- Elite Beetle: Eyes. Hitting its weak spot can be difficult due to how small they are.
- Golem: Chest. A glowing green core rests in its chest, but is often protected by its arms.
- Ichthyosaurus Offspring: Mouth and tail fin
- The throat is exposed when its head is above the sand and can be targeted from the front or from the side.
- The tail fin is exposed during its ground slam and corrosion artillery attacks and can be hit from any angle.
- Yoruhime-Maru: Small cannon muzzles. Large cannon eyes.
- Each cannon muzzle is mostly stationary, allowing easy critical hits.
- Both eyes of the great cannon are weak spots.
- Abyssal Serpent: Eyes. Golden scales.
- The eyes are hard to hit due to their relative smallness and the distance of the serpent.
- The golden scales can be hit the easiest after a lunge attack, giving players a couple seconds to attack before the serpent retreats.
- Pole Monarch's Aura Jars: None.
CritX Multiplier[]
Each weapon has its own base CritX which can be modified by other effects, such as talents and inscriptions. Accurate weapons often have higher CritX than less accurate weapons, since they can more reliably hit weak spots from longer range.
Most Explosions? (except Sting and Shrieker) and Melee Weapons cannot naturally inflict critical hits even when hitting weak spots, but they are capable of doing so when forced to, such as with Wait For Good and Deadly Counter.
Heroes Affecting Critical Hits[]
- Crown Prince:
- Acidominance level 3 applies the effects of a Smoke Grenade when inflicting a critical hit on an enemy (up to once every 3 seconds).
- Ao Bai:
- Lucky Ammo level 3 increases Lucky Shot Chance by +20% for 1 second when triggering a lucky shot and critical hit simultaneously while Dual-Wielding.
- Lei Luo:
- Surging Crit grants a 50% chance for any non-critical hit with Snipers to be a critical hit, but they deal only 70% damage.
- Thunder Turbo increases weapon and skill damage by up to +15% (maximum of +120%) when killing an enemy with a critical hit. Level 3 also increases total critical damage by +5% (maximum of +40%).
- Voltage Surge increases total critical damage on an enemy by up to +40% after hitting them with a critical hit.
- Lightning From Void has a chance to cast Chain Lightning when dealing a critical hit.
- Lightning Messenger inflicts Shock? on every enemy within 3 meters when dealing a critical hit, as long as they are not already affected by Shock.
- Gradual Improvement grants 1 stack for every crit shot, but removes 1 stack for every non-crit shot. +0.3x CritX for every stack (up to 30 stacks, or +9.0x CritX).
- Ultimate Violence increases CritX by +1x.
- Boundless Lightning increases the effect of Lightning Messenger from 3 meters to 12.
- Rage Shot increases critical hit damage by +15%.
- Tao:
- Flower Chain level 3 lets critically hitting an enemy marked with Fatal Bloom spread the critical hit to other marked enemies.
- Qian Sui:
- Battle Adrenaline grants up to 30% chance to deal a critical hit with weapon damage from the Tidal Aspis slam, with up to an additional +8% chance for every 10 stacks of Fist Sensation. Level 3 also grants +0.5x CritX for every 10 stacks of Fist Sensation.
- Xing Zhe:
- Casting Soul Strike while holding a Sniper grants a 40% chance to deal a critical hit, and grants +60% total damage for critical hits from Soul Strike.
- Critical Cudgel grants a chance to deal a critical hit with Soul Strike.
- Weapon Mastery triples the effectiveness of Breacher on Snipers, and shares the effect with your other weapon.
- Zi Xiao:
- Last Star level 3 guarantees critical hits for shots that consume the last ammo in the magazine, if the Astroaspect consumed is legendary.
- Functional Deck increases CritX by +0.5x for 5s when consuming a Wild Astroaspect.
- Nona:
- Magazine Modification increases critical damage by up to +60% for the first 10 ammo in a magazine.
- Lucky Break increases Lucky Shot Chance by up to +80% when landing a critical hit.
- Eagle Eye grants a guaranteed critical hit for the next shot to not hit a weak spot, after landing a critical hit with a Pistol. Stacks up to 10 times.
- Same Boat increases CritX by +3x for 5s against enemies that have been hit by Iron Wing.
- Restart Shot grants pistols a guaranteed critical hit for the first shot after reloading.
- Restart Shot increases critical damage by +50% for 5s against enemies that have been hit by Iron Wing.
Scrolls Affecting Critical Hits[]
- Wait For Good causes the first shot every 10 seconds to become a critical hit.
- Skill Booster increases skill damage by +4% for the next primary/secondary skill, up to +500%, for every critical hit.
- Enhanced Normal Ammo (Scroll) adds +0.5x CritX to the shot for every special ammo consumed when using Normal Ammo weapons.
- Large Ammo (Scroll) adds +0.5x CritX to the shot for every special ammo consumed when using Large Ammo weapons.
- Enhanced Special Ammo (Scroll) adds +0.5x CritX to the shot for every special ammo consumed when using Special Ammo weapons.
- Enhanced Connected Mind adds +0.2x CritX if you're using the same weapon as a teammate.
- Glazed Sight adds +1.5x CritX. However taking damage to Health? 50 times will lower it to +0.5x.
- Hawkeye Sight adds +2.0x CritX and doubles scope zoom, but decreases damage of normal hits by -50%.
- Deadly Counter causes all hits to become critical hits for 3 seconds after taking damage.
- Penetration Bullet causes critical hits on all enemies to deal 50% of their damage to Health directly.
- Merciless Strike increases Lucky Shot chance by +50% on critical hits and decreases it by -50% for normal hits.
- Cateye Sight decreases CritX by 1.0x, reducing the damage of critical hits.

- Crimson Firescale charges its Weapon Skill? when landing critical hits.
- Demonlore increases its base damage by +10% when landing critical hits.
- Brick increases its CritX by +2.0x and guarantees a critical hit for the next weak spot hit after picking up a starlight.
- Golden Bow increases its CritX by up to +1.5x, based on its charge.
- Shrieker deals critical hits to all enemies within its Explosion? upon landing a critical hit.
- Breacher increases CritX by up to +0.25x when using Snipers.
- Crit Enhancement increases CritX by up to +0.5x.
- Counterviolence increases CritX by +1x and grants a 50% chance for any weapon hit to be a critical hit.
- Enhanced weapons with the Critical enhancement gain an extra +0.8x to +1.1x CritX.
- Explosive Ammo allows critical hits to instantly destroy normal enemy Shields?/ Armor? when using Snipers.
- Hang-time Trick grants a 33% chance to critically hit when using Melee Weapons.
- Critical Rush reduces primary skill and Dash cooldowns by -1s when inflicting a critical hit with a Pistol. (Cooldown: 1s)
- Target Marked causes enemies to take +15% damage (up to +45%) after being hit by a critical hit.
- Trick Shot grants a 50% chance for the first hit after swapping weapons or reloading to be a critical hit.
- Extermination Shot grants a 30% chance to deal 30% of a normal enemy's current Health? and Shields?/ Armor? as extra damage when landing a critical hit.
- Blessed Arms grants a 35% chance for any weapon hit to be a critical hit.
- Well-trained increases CritX by +2x against enemies affected by an elemental effect.

- While the CritX value in game is displayed as a final value, it is handled as a base value of 2x + any actual value. ✦ CritX share(full text) simply adds two actual CritX values and then apply the base 2x to become the visible final value.
