Old Battle Boots

Old Battle Boots is an Occult Scroll. It is a Cursed Scroll and cannot be obtained through normal means. Instead it can be obtained when using a Peculiar Chest, rarely from Curiosity Box, from choices with Interdependent Fortunes, and various other methods.

The movement speed decrease may make some platforming vaults more difficult to complete, preventing you from acquiring more occult scrolls. Consider choosing a scroll increasing movement speed as soon as possible, or asking for one from a teammate in multiplayer.

Synergies[]

Positive[]

Any movement speed increase will help counter the effects.
Snow Boots will ignore the movement speed penalty and halves damage from traps, effectively disabling the scroll.
Advanced Joggers, Magic Watch and Propulsion Device can help offset the movement speed penalty with dashes.
Evil-Devouring Sword grants +25% weapon and skill damage for each cursed scroll.
Curse Away can be discarded, destroying it to cancel cursed scroll effects.
Evil-Banishing Talisman cancels the effects of all cursed scrolls.

Reduced Positive[]

Heavy Shield will slow you down even further briefly after being hit, but may still negate any extra hits.

Mixed[]

Good and Evil increases Shields^?/ Armor^? by +15 for each cursed scroll owned, but loses its +15% Lucky Shot Chance.
Corrosion Enthusiast will slow you down even more when under Decay effect. However if the negative effect is ignored, Decay will make you move faster.

Negative[]

Heavy weapons that decrease movement speed will make dodging enemy attacks even harder.
Heavy Burden reduce movement speed even further based on maximum Health and Shields/Armor.
