Residual Traces is an Ascension.
Enemies hit by Ink Splash from 
Ink Form will take additional ink damage every second, for a few seconds. This effect stacks a limited number of times.
Each level increases both the damage and max stacks, resulting in a maximum damage of 600, 1350 and 2400 damage per second for levels 1, 2 and 3, respectively.
Level 2 bonus: Defeating an enemy with stacks will transfer them to a nearby enemy.
Level 3 bonus: Duration increased from 6 seconds to 10. Additionally, defeating an enemy to transfer stacks resets their duration.
