
Spiritual Assault icon.
Spiritual Assault is a Game Mode that is only accessible after reaching Talent level 60. It puts you in a location different from the main game and has you fight against waves of incoming enemies, with a boss at the end.
Spirit Concentrator[]
In this mode, most general talents are disabled (but hero-specific talents are still functional, and Big Box,
Dazzling Treasures,
Exclusive Inscription 1 and
Gemini Inscription are all enabled). Instead, the player gains access to Spirit Concentrator, a feature providing similar effects.
The Spirit Concentrator is a 5x5 grid (without the corners) containing up to 21 slots, but the player only starts with 4 slots in a 2x2 area. Other grid slots can be unlocked with 20?, costing a total of 340 for all of them.
The player can put Spiritual Jades into the concentrator to gain various effects. Each jade has a shape and size that occupies a varying number of slots. Different jades cannot overlap, restricting the number of jades that can be used at once. Jades can be rotated around on the grid, allowing them to fit in places where they otherwise could not.
Lists of available spiritual jades are shown below, sorted in shape. Some of them need to be unlocked, while some of them are only available to specific hero.

Gameplay[]
The overall concept of Spiritual Assault is simple. Survive for 20 minutes while an endless stream of enemies spawn and attack, with occasional events that may help or hinder players. At the end, the final boss Gluttony must be defeated in a typical boss arena.
A timeline appears at the top of the screen, showing players how far they've progressed through the game mode, and what events are to be expected in the future.
Maps[]
Currently there are 2 maps that can be played in.
- Desert Frontier, a mostly flat area which is largely made up by a maze of desert ruins, with some larger areas and some open desert similar to Anxi Desert. All of the enemies from Anxi Desert are present in this map. Enemies appear at a somewhat slow rate, have high health, and often take longer to reach players.
- Mid Fjord, a large multi-layered area filled with various rocky passes, wooden platforms and shipwrecks similar to Duo Fjord. Most of the enemies from Duo Fjord (except
Fiddler Crab) are also present in this map. Enemies appear at a fast rate, and usually have opportunities to attack immediately, especially from a distance.
Around the map are small portals that can be interacted with. These portals will instantly teleport you to a new location in the map marked by colored circles on the ground, acting like a quick travel system. Each portal will lead to the same circle, indicated by a pair of dark blue portals on the minimap when nearby.
While the general layout of maps are the same, the detailed terrain each game may vary. Some paths may be blocked by obstacles, and some portals do not appear.
Combat[]
During almost every moment of gameplay, enemies will be constantly entering the map and attacking you, forcing you to quickly defeat them so you don't get overwhelmed. Enemies gradually get stronger and more numerous, and the types of enemies that appear will get more varied and dangerous, requiring the player to get stronger with them. In the final few minutes, elite enemies will spawn alongside regular enemies.
Due to the map containing various heights, objects being at different height will show a dim icon. Elite enemies are indicated with a large purple marker occasionally emitting red circles. If teammates fall, their icons will also emit red circles.
There is a limit on how many enemies can be in the map at once, to prevent slow or weak players from getting completely overrun. However enemies should still be killed as much as possible.
Enemies will not drop Copper?,
Soul Essence? or Weapons. Copper is instead immediately given to the player for each enemy (except Exploding Lantern Spirits) killed. 6 copper for most enemies, 12 for large enemies and 400 for elite enemies. Soul Essence is awarded based on how long you survive for. Weapons can be obtained at Peddlers.
Events[]
There are currently 4 different events that can happen during gameplay.
- A Peddler and Craftsman appears somewhere on the map. They can appear in several different locations, and are marked with a yellow circle when looking in their direction. Sometimes when this event occurs, enemies will be killed and players are given a brief time where no more enemies attack. Peddlers have 1 more refresh compared to normal.
- A Peculiar Chest appears somewhere on the map. They can appear in several different locations, and are marked with a red circle when looking in their direction.
- At the 10 minute, 20 minute and 30(?) minute mark, the timer will pause and a large group of elite enemies will spawn. More enemies will stop spawning at this point. These elites must be killed in order to progress, and doing so will kill every other enemy as well. Players are given a brief time where enemies do not attack, unless it is the final event where the portal to Gluttony appears.
- A random Challenge Event occurs, with a list of different events shown below.

Leveling Up[]
Each time you kill an enemy they will drop experience gems. The amount of experience given is based on the color. Blue gives the lowest, followed by purple then orange. Experience is shared between all players.
Once enough experience has been earned you will level up, rewarding you with a choice of items that can be picked by using F1, F2 or F3. Alternatively, using the Team Information button (default key is C) will allow you to see each item in more detail. Doing this also pauses the game. In Multiplayer it instead makes you immune to damage and crowd control effects, but you cannot inflict damage either.
The higher your level, the more experience is required to reach the next one.
Each level will either give you a choice of 3 weapons, 3 scrolls or 3 ascensions. If none of the weapons or scrolls in a selection is wanted, you may discard the scroll choice or upgrade your weapon at hand with F4.
Rewards are given in a set rotation. Once the rewards reach the end of the list, it loops around and begins again. Every 6 levels gives 1 weapon, 2 ascensions and 3 scrolls in total.

Spiritual Ascensions[]

After defeating the first and second group of Elite enemies, a Spiritual Goblet will drop, granting a choice of 3 Spiritual Ascensions which give powerful bonuses.
Soul Essence? can be paid to refresh the goblet with new choices, starting at 30 and increasing by 40 for every refresh. The price does not reset upon receiving a second goblet.

Spiritual Seals[]
Spiritual Seals are single-use items that are manually activated, providing powerful temporary effects. They can very rarely be found after defeating an enemy, or can be sold by the Peddler.
List of available spiritual seals is shown below.

Adjustments[]
Most of the Occult Scrolls, Ascensions and hero-specific talents are the same, but some of them will not spawn, while some other have been adjusted:

- Adjusted:
Extravagant Consumption: Change "Consume copper upon next level until 500" into "Copper is capped at 1600 and consume any more than 1600 automatically".
- This causes copper to be consumed as its obtained if at 1600 already, rather than consumed at the end of a stage.
Elemental Relic: Caps at 50 stacks.
Veteran: Caps at 200 stacks.
Dual-edge: Caps at 1500 stacks. Damage bonus per kill decreased from 1% to 0.5%.
Enhanced Refresh Addict: Merchs of Peddlers can be refreshed twice more.
Precise Explosion: Works when hitting 3/5/7 or less enemies.
Easy Kill: Caps at 3000 stacks. Base damage bonus per kill decreased from +5 to +2.
Shadow Knight: All levels can activate if no enemies are present within 5m.
Sniper: Spawns an extra sniper rifle for every 50 kills.
Gifted Man:
"After killing an enemy 15 meters away with a crit hit, weapon damage will be increase by 0.3% permanently." is capped at 200 stacks.
Flame Arsenal: Spawns an extra fire weapon for every 50 kills.
Accurate Crush: If
Blazing Nova is chosen, effect will work when hitting 3/3/6 or less enemies.
Star Rearrangement: Occurs every level up.
Notes[]
- Breakable objects will respawn 10 seconds after being destroyed, granting a renewable source of ammunition, secondary skill uses and rarely buns. Players nearby will stop them from respawning, likely to discourage camping in 1 spot.

- 11/26/2022 update:
- Adjusted the spawn time of Craftsman and Peddler.
- When Craftsman and Peddler are spawned, all monsters will be removed and will not spawn for the next 30 seconds.
- Reduced the enemy HP increase based on number of players in multiplayer.
- Reduced the frequency of life-steal attack of [Elite Monk] and the life-steal efficiency in multiplayer.
- Breaking the chaser orb of [Elite Monk] will drop a few ammo supplies and Secondary Skill uses.
- Reduced the HP of [Pyro Lantern Spirit] and [Exploding Lantern Spirit].
- In [Mid Fjord], players are now immune to All DMG and negative effects, and deals no DMG to enemies while selecting level up reward with reward selection panel.
- Added Combat Medic and Total Rebirth spiritual jades.
- Revitalization shape reduced from 1x2 to 1x1, and it now removes 2 stacks of [Down Penalty] every time you revive a teammate at the Peddler.
- Benevolence shape reduced from 2x3 to 1x5. Effect changed from Health not dropping below 1 when reviving a teammate, to being immune to damage while reviving a teammate.
- The minimal time until death when knocked down is now 6 seconds.
- Revive limit at the Peddler is removed. But the cost will increase as the revive times increases.
