Talents

All the different talents in the game.

Talents are the collection of a hero's abilities that the player has unlocked. The player can collect Soul Essence? from enemies they kill to improve a hero's talent after a run is over.

Your level is equal to the number of talents you have. (e.g. A talent that is 1/1 gives you 1 level, a talent that is 2/5 gives you 2 levels, and a talent that is 5/5 gives you 5 levels. If you have a 1/1 and a 2/5 talent, you will have 3 levels.)

You can refund all talents, giving you Talent Essence equal to the amount of Soul Essence you've spent. Talent Essence can only be spent on talents, unlike Soul Essence which can also be spent on other things, preventing you from accidentally spending too much and being unable to re-purchase what you refunded.

Various talents are available, separated between six categories: Expedition, Battle, Skill, Survival, Weapon and Hero. Talents in the first five categories are shared across all heroes, while the Hero category contains talents specific to each hero.

Gifted Man Random Talents[]

A random option from each of 3 lists will appear at the start of every run. Only one can be selected, but the options can always be re-rolled.

  • Defense:
    • For every Elite monster/Boss killed or assisted to kill, +5 Max Shield? permanently.
    • After casting Fatal Current, remove self elemental effect immediately. In the next 2s, gain immunity to elemental effect and reduce DMG taken by 90%.
    • Increases Shield? recovery speed by 30%. Delivering a critical hit makes the Shield regenerate immediately.
    • When the Shield is broken, immediately fully restores the Shield and becomes Invincible for 2 seconds. (CD: 120s)
  • Weapon:
    • Deals an additional 30% damage to monsters that have more than 80% remaining total HP.
    • When attacking enhanced monsters, lucky shot chance +50%.
    • After killing an enemy 15 meters away with a crit hit, weapon damage will be increase by 0.3% permanently.
    • Get a "patrimonial" sniper rifle. (Random +2 Sniper with 3 inscriptions. High chance of Exclusive Inscription. Weapons that have not been unlocked can also be given.)

Scroll Divination
Upgrade the quality of Occult Scrolls in your backpack without changing its effect, or reroll the Occult Scroll to another one of equal or higher quality. Each Occult Scroll can only be upgraded or reset once. Start with 1 reset attempt. For each Ascension obtained, gain 2 upgrade attempts and 1 reset attempt.

Note: Upgrading scrolls will alter the chances to draw Astroaspects, serving no other purpose. Upgraded scrolls have a purple or golden mark in the bottom-right corner of the icon. Despite the description, Normal quality scrolls can upgrade themselves twice to reach Legendary quality.

Upgrades are applied automatically to scrolls in your backpack, based on your upgrade strategy in the Scrolls tab (Normal Least (Upgrades normal first, then rare), Rare Most (Upgrades normal, doesn't upgrade rare) or Legendary Most (Upgrades rare first, then normal)).

Rerolling scrolls will transform them into valid scroll of equal or higher rarity, once per scroll (e.g. It's impossible to get Break the Ice by rerolling scrolls in inventory). Only non-cursed scrolls can be rerolled, indicated by a circling diamond monocle icon while on the ground, or without a "rerolled" icon at the upper left in inventory. Rerolling enhanced scrolls keeps the enhancement. It is possible to get the same scroll as before rerolling.

Stellar Recovery
If Falling Star deals no DMG, recover 100% cooldown (CD: 15s). If it is Impure Astrohouse, increase Astrohouse Level based on Astroaspects in slot before casting Falling Star.

Note: Increase probability: Normal/Rare/Legendary/Wild provides 15/20/25/30% chance. Every 100% chance increases 1 level, and the remaining chance below 100% may provide another level.

Level Rewards[]

  • The amount of soul essence required to max out each tree is 1805 for Expedition, 3575 for Battle, 1300 for Skill, 3645 for Survival, 1475 for Weapon and 500 for each Hero (6000 for all 12 Heroes). To max out all trees, a minimum of 17800 soul essence (18800 after purchasing Tao and Qian Sui) is required.
    • Previously it cost 2685 for Expedition, 3725 for Battle, 1960 for Skill, 5280 for Survival, 1980 for Weapon and 855 for each Hero (8550 for all 10 Heroes), for 24180 soul essence (25180 with Tao and Qian Sui) in total. Effectively the cost was reduced by 25.3% overall.
  • The maximum level that can be achieved is 198 when purchasing all talents.
  • A player can only hold up to 25000 soul essence. More can still be dropped from enemies and picked up, but will not be added to the current amount.
